Apply for a Wholesale Dealer Import Certificate

Wholesale Dealer Import Certificates

As a wholesale dealer, you will need a Wholesale Dealer Import Certificate (WDIC) to hold and supply imported medicines on request to others who hold a valid import certificate for that product.

Applications will be considered if a valid Special Import Certificate (SIC) has been issued, otherwise your application will remain on hold for a maximum 14 days awaiting a SIC approval.

To apply for a Wholesale Dealer Import Certificate

You must hold a Wholesale Dealer’s Authorisation (WDA) with the appropriate permissions to apply for a Wholesale Dealer’s Import Certificate (WDIC).

For guidance on how to apply for or vary a WDA go to Apply for manufacturer or wholesaler of medicines licences

Before you can apply for a Wholesale Dealer Import Certificate

All applications are tied to an organisation account.

Each holder of a Wholesale Dealer’s Authorisation (WDA) with the appropriate permissions to apply for a WDIC must have their own Veterinary Medicines Digital Service organisation account.

If your organisation already has an account, ask the account's administrator to invite you to join.
